VACF is the new regional representative of the EWC (Every Woman Counts) Program for Orange County. The Every Woman Counts (EWC) provides free breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services to California’s underserved populations. The mission of EWC is to save lives by preventing and reducing the devastating effects of cancer for Californians. BREAST CANCER

Breast cancer is one of the most popular cancers among Vietnamese Americans in the USA. If diagnosed early and treated before it spreads, five-year survival rate for breast cancer is 99%.

CERVICAL CANCER

According to CDC, all women are at risk for cervical cancer but it occurs most often in women over age 30. Most cases of cervical cancer are caused by infection with HPV, which is preventable with a vaccine.

OVARIAN CANCER

Ovarian cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the ovaries. In 2020, about 21,750 women will receive a new diagnosis of ovarian cancer and about 13,940 women will die from it.
